This is a folding carton die for tissue. This is the zip release. It is all on an insert, a removable insert. If the customer wants to change what’s on this insert, we can change it. If they want a different zipper, it’s just an insert that’s bolted on to the die.
Here is a sampling of our rotary dies that we’ve made for our customers. These are sample dies, show dies. We’ve made similar dies for our customers. This is an example of one of those test strip dies, with the little fingers. And again, these fingers have to be very precisely machined. We have special processes to make that happen, within plus or minus five microns. That is about one tenth the width of a human hair.
We have here an old school cylinder. This is for cutting pricing labels, back in the day. They still use some of these, but they’re very uncommon. This is an example of a very intricate type of die.
Here is another vacuum die. This is an example with one long bar insert in each row. And the alternative here is individual inserts. Of course, individual inserts are a little more costly, but then they give you the luxury of replacing inserts individually, one by one. Let’s say something happens – a pressman drops something, which goes into the press and breaks a cavity. You just replace that one insert rather than a whole strip.
